Insertion Pin Taper is a blunt needle that is used to insert the jewelry as a guide. It is also used to stretch the gauge / diameter (size) of the current piercing hole or re-open a closed piercing.
Important: It is not a needle, not sharp, hence CANNOT be used as a piercing tool.
